Reporting to the Manager, NorQuest International, the International Student Recruiter provides support and carries out strategic directions established by the Manager of International for international student recruitment, business development, and client and institutional relationship management. The goal of this position is to increase enrollments, seek out business development opportunities and increase revenue to the College. The role may require extensive and lengthy international travel. With a keen understanding of the market, the incumbent develops recruiting strategies to maximize market reach and impact. At the end of each cycle, the incumbent assesses results and identifies opportunities for improvement.




International Recruitment & Enrolment


  • Provide strategic knowledge, guidance, and expertise on the development of the College's international recruitment and enrolment strategies; including determining levels of recruitment activities and marketing/promotions required to meet targets, and establishing/evaluating target markets for recruitment activities
  • Developing and executing annual recruitment plans that will work towards meeting strategic goals; including international travel/attendance at education fairs/events, promotional/recruitment activities at targeted high school and postsecondary institutions abroad, developing and delivering presentations about NorQuest College and the programs to prospects and influencers abroad, and meeting and providing information/training to international agents who are recruiting on behalf of the College.

  • Working closely with the Brand & Marketing department and supporting the development of promotional materials specific to international recruitment activities; including but not limited to publications, website and social media information, and targeted marketing activities.


Relationship Management/Business Development


  • Identify opportunities for new strategic markets and partnerships to aid in the development of international recruitment initiatives & activities
  • Development of international agent contracts; including developing country/region specific agent requirements and strategies, determining agent suitability, providing information and training to agent staff, and implementing policies/procedures for evaluating agent effectiveness

  • Development relationships with Canadian Trade Networks, Canadian Embassy staff, and other organizations to create partnerships to ensure that NorQuest College is well represented in key target markets

  • Develop strategies designed to foster institutional collaborations, partnerships, and linkages to align with the international recruitment, and business development goals of the unit




  • A related post-secondary diploma in a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively more responsible related strategic experience, including setting goals and objectives, coordination, and planning in an international student recruitment role in post-secondary
  • online marketing and/or business development experience
  • superior record of generating new business and building/maintaining client relationships in existing and new market sectors is required
  • demonstrated experience in international marketing communications and strategy
  • hands-on experience moving programs from inception to completion, and knowledgeable in every phase of work from marketing research to strategy development, to objective setting, to budget setting, monitoring and maintenance
  • Experience in new client identification and relationship development/maintenance in international arenas.




SALARY: $52,052- $67,626, Commensurate with education and experience and includes immediate participation in our comprehensive pension and benefits plans.
