Reporting to the Assistive Technology Team Lead, the role of the Assistive Technology Specialist (AT) includes (but is not limited to): assessing the technology needs of student’s with approved accommodations; providing software and technology training to students requiring assistive technology as an approved accommodation; reviewing strategies for effective use of technology in the classroom; collaborating with publishers and external parties to acquire accessible materials for students; when necessary, creating accessible materials for use with assistive technology devices; maintaining and tracking assistive technology equipment and software; collaborating with Accommodated Learning Support to synthesize academic strategies with technological strategies for the student; ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with current trends in assistive technology software/hardware and techniques in assistive technology assessment/training; providing a guiding structure for universal design initiatives within the college; and other duties and tasks as required.
SALARY: $43,015 - $55,910 per annum; commensurate with education and experience related to the position.
