WELLNESS COACH (ADMINISTRATOR I)

WELLNESS AND ACCESSIBILITY
STUDENT SERVICES

 

Reporting to the Manager of Wellness, the Wellness Coach provides practicum support to students with disabilities, as well as group social skills training relevant to the classroom, practicum and workplace. This position will coordinate with other areas in the College in order to foster communication and encourage collaboration for effective service delivery. This position will deliver culturally sensitive presentations that provide meaningful information to students based on identified mental health trends seen on campus. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver classroom presentations, workshops, activities and resources for students based on mental health trends and faculty requests 
  • Provide on-site practicum support to students with disabilities, as needed
  • Liaison with key internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to: establishing relationships with other NorQuest College staff and faculty to assist in identifying and meeting student needs
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as psychologists, social workers, nurses, student support specialists, and academic strategists
  • Liaise with regional NorQuest campuses.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • A completed post-secondary diploma, Bachelor’s degree considered a strong asset.
  • 1-3 years of experience is required, experience in a post-secondary education environment would be an asset 
  • Experience providing presentations
  • Experience developing and delivering workshops
  • Experience developing resources
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting 
  • Experience establishing/maintaining a network of contacts with community resources
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Experience with acculturation issues
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both verbal and written formats
  • Must be independent, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Communicates with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and courtesy

 

SALARY: The starting wage for this casual assignment is $22.52 per hour; commensurate based on education and experience.
