As a NorQuest Clinical Instructor, you will facilitate learning in a variety of health care settings in the region of St. Paul and at the University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak  Blue Quills. University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills is a 15 min drive from St. Paul Alberta. 

The health care settings will include both acute and continuing care. Instructors help learners acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude to meet the professional nursing standards. You will need to possess excellent communication skills as your primary role is to assist student understanding of the practical nurse scope of practice.


The hours of work are usually day time, Monday to Friday; however clinical rotations may include an evening component. Casual instructors teaching in the clinical setting are needed to commit to a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks of full time hours at a time.




  • RN or LPN with applicable degree
  • 3-5 years acute care/teaching experience
  • Current CARNA or CLPNA registration
  • Current CPR
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous issues in Alberta including contemporary social and cultural issues and the relationship of these to the support of indigenous students
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with Indigenous Peoples in a learning environment
  • Experience working with Indigenous peoples and understanding inter-generational trauma, the importance of healing, empowerment, education, training and holistic wellness is a definite asset


Successful candidates for the Practical Nurse Instructor positions are required to provide the following:

  • A Police Information Check within the last ninety days
  • A Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last ninety days
  • Up to date immunization records


SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience. This opportunity also includes 11.2% in lieu of vacation and benefits.
