    Our Social Work program is expanding! The Social Work Program has mid-sized classes a practicum component.  The program is designed to prepare students to practice in a range of social work settings.     • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of practicum sites, supervisors and mentors.
    • Coordinate placement of students in practicum in the Social Work program.
    • Face to face visits with new and existing practicum sites.
    • Track practicum requirements and needs in the Social Work Program.
    • Recruit placement agencies and onsite mentors with appropriate qualifications.
    • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities.
    • Maintain up to date information regarding programs and placements.
    • Revise practicum handbooks and practicum course outlines as required.
    • Provide leadership in Work Integrated Learning as college wide systems are implemented.
    • Work as a member of the program teams.
    • Work as a member of the FHCS Work Integrated Learning team. 



    • Master’s degree in Social Work or higher
    • Current RSW Alberta license/registration
    • Five years’ experience in teaching/social work practice or a combination of teaching and practice
    • Demonstrated strong team and collegial relationship building skills is considered an asset.
    • Demonstrate strong teaching and academic skills, a commitment to Indigenous, multicultural and diversity issues, evidence of research and scholarly activity, and a willingness to engage in service to the program, College and community. Social work teaching, research and student supervision experience preferred.
    • Demonstrate knowledge in adult learning theory, curriculum design, and the capacity to teach in blended learning environments.
    • Knowledge and experience in the use of Learning Management System (LMS) such as Moodle and/ or with other educational technologies considered an asset
    • Experience developing and teaching online courses considered an asset



    Successful candidates for the Social Work Practicum Coordinator .05 faculty position are required to provide the following:


    • A Police Information Check within the last ninety days
    • A Vulnerable Sector Check within the last ninety days


    SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience. This position also includes very generous vacation and immediate participation in our comprehensive pension and benefits plans.
