    CURRICULUM DEVELOPER 

    TEACHING ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE PROFESSIONAL (TEAL) PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

    FACULTY OF FOUNDATIONAL, CAREER, & INTERCULTURAL STUDIES

     

    The Faculty of Foundational, Career, and Intercultural Studies is seeking an experienced curriculum developer to contribute to the development of courses for the new Teaching English as an Additional Language (TEAL) Professional program. We are looking for an energetic, passionate, and innovative professional to join our team. Part-time and continuing education contract opportunities available.

     

    The curriculum developer is responsible for designing and writing course content, learning outcomes and tasks as well as preparing instructional materials and assessment tools. Familiarity with online, hybrid, and blended delivery and experience teaching in adult classrooms will be an asset. If you have a passion for developing course content and materials designed for practical, hands-on teacher education, you are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Development of courses for the TEAL Professional program that incorporate relevant literature, research, resources, and best practices
    • Generate learning outcomes commensurate with the goals of the program
    • Prepare instructional materials, resources, learning tasks, and assessment tools that support the learning outcomes
    • Work collaboratively within a team environment

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree in TESL, Applied Linguistics, or Adult Education
    • TESL Canada Standard 3 or equivalent
    • Familiarity with Canadian Language Benchmarks, PBLA, and Essential Skills an asset
    • Experience teaching in post-secondary TESL programs an asset
    • Experience with online, hybrid, and blended course delivery an asset

    SALARY: Commensurate with experience
