    DAY HOME PROVIDER INSTRUCTOR

    LANGUAGE TRAINING

    FACULTY OF FOUNDATIONAL, CAREER, & INTERCULTURAL STUDIES

Our talented and highly qualified instructors bring a wide range of expertise to the classroom. We offer a variety of excellent English programs and courses to meet our students’ diverse needs. Canadian Language Benchmarks are an integral part of our programs.

     

    More than 500 students study English as a second language (ESL) at NorQuest College, making this the largest ESL school in Edmonton. Our students represent nationalities and cultures from every part of the world. You will help ESL learners get the language competencies they need to transition into employment or further education.

     

    Are you an energetic, enthusiastic individual with a passion for teaching early childhood curriculum? Would you like to provide literacy and/or ESL students with the knowledge and training required to operate their own day home business? If so, consider joining our team as a Day Home Provider Instructor.

     

    In this role, you will use ESL strategies and methodologies to improve student knowledge of early childhood development, food and nutrition, business, and language and literacy development, while increasing their academic and language skills. With your assistance, students exiting this program will be fully prepared and experienced to work in both early childhood centers, and their own day homes.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Strong organizational, long-term planning and evaluative techniques required.
    • Masters degree in Early Childhood or ESL preferred; Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Development may be considered.
    • Experience in a teaching environment and in an administrative role.
    • Experience working in an adult ESL or literacy learning environment preferred.
    • Experience operating a day home, on in an early childhood environment an asset.

     

    SALARY:   Commensurate with education and experience.
