Work Integrated Learning Unit
The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit empowers students in Faculty of Foundational, Career, and Intercultural Studies (FCIS) programs by coordinating Work-Integrated Learning opportunities to enhance academic achievement through workforce-relevant experiences with employer-partners. The unit supports all types of WIL within FCIS, including Administrative Professional, Accounting Technician, Apprenticeship Prep, Business Administration Diploma, Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada, English as a Second Language, and Transitions to Employment.
This position reports to the Manager, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and contributes to the success of the WIL unit by serving both students and employer-partners. WIL Advisors assists FCIS students by coaching, guiding, and providing resources to students and connecting them to employer-partners to facilitate placement for Work-Integrated Learning leading to students’ workforce readiness. The WIL Advisor coaches students on various aspects of career development from resume writing to professionalism in one-on-one meetings and in classroom settings; assesses student experiences and determines best fit for placement; evaluates learning during the WIL experience; and, develops and enhances relationships with employer-partners to determine needs, mitigate risk, analyze suitability, and develop work-plans. The WIL. This position plays a key role in enhancing NorQuest’s presence in the community and building NorQuest’s reputation of preparing students to become workforce-ready graduates.
SALARY: This is a term position with a possibility of extension. Salary is $52,052 - $67,626 per annum commensurate on education and experience.
