Reporting to the Manager of Research, the Institutional Research Analyst supports the College in meeting its Strategic Plan by supporting rigorous, client-driven institutional. The position require self-direction, good relationship skills, and strong knowledge of institutional research.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

  • Building, launching, and analyzing surveys.
  • Supporting major institutional research activities at the College, such as college-wide student and staff surveys.
  • Conducting program-specific research, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
  • Providing program-specific analysis of institutional research upon request.
  • Overseeing and implementing the course evaluation process and ensuring the update of results by program areas.
  • Conducting quantitative analysis of institutional research and administrative data upon request.
  • Supporting the annual generation of statistics for 24 College programs.
  • Ad hoc data analysis and small surveys upon requests.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  

  • A graduate degree completed or in progress in a discipline related to the position (mathematics, sociology, education, anthropology, etc.).
  • 3-5 years research experience, including proposal writing, data analysis, interpretation, and report writing.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural competency with a variety of people in diverse settings
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • A combination of analytical ability and inductive skills. A facility with both qualitative and quantitative research is required.
  • Flexibility – willingness and ability to accommodate and adjust to differing situations and requirements (some evening and weekends may be required)
  • Appreciation for and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Experience in the human services or post-secondary sector.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is desirable, but not required.

 

SALARY: $65,318 -77,106 Commensurate with education and experience with immediate participation in our comprehensive benefits plans.

BUSINESS SUPPORT ANALYST

Reporting to the Business Planning Manager, the Business Support Analyst ensures that leadership is provided with timely, accurate and effective advice with respect to preparation and maintenance of program and contract budgets (expenses, revenue, costing, forecasting).

 

You will work closely with Dean, Associate Dean, Chairs, and Managers to ensure divisional forecasting and budgeting requirements are met.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in related discipline
  • 3 years plus directly related experience in a post-secondary environment, and/or financial services or information management environment
  • Significant cost estimating experience with large projects or budgets
  • Certification through the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) is considered an asset

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Leads the creation of the division’s annual budget, provides oversight on divisional budgets
  • Provides scenario planning, advises of financial impact
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and update monthly planned data
  • Prepare analysis of expenditure trends
  • Create forecasts and cash flow
  • Understand how new initiatives, enrollment changes, staff changes, etc. impact budgets and forecasting
  • Identify program/contract cost pressures
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries, requesting amendments if needed
  • Provide advice on program costing, tuition & fee validation, enrolment planning initiatives
  • Run queries and provide analysis related to tuition revenue and journal entries

 

ENROLLMENT PLANNING:

  • Budget and Enrollment planning scenarios (including new programs and renewals)
  • Planning, forecasting, and actual reporting term by term for seats, SIP, FLES’s, and budget impacts

 

CONTRACTS

 

  • Create budgets for Requests For Proposals, new program development
  • Liaise with external funders on contract requirements and track and monitor expenditures
  • Ensure the contract control framework is followed
  • Acts as the content expert on the correct understanding and interpretation of grants and contracts

 

REPORTING/COMMUNICATIONS

  • Communicate with other colleges regarding brokerage agreements, joint initiatives and Memorandums of Understanding
  • Lead the College Fiscal Year End activities and processes area
  • Provide monthly and quarterly updates on project/program financial status

 

PROGRAM COORDINATION/RESEARCH

  • Conduct environmental scans on best practices
  • Research, troubleshoot and find solutions
  • Support Finance on annual audits of grants and contracts

Reporting to the Team Lead, Marketing, the Marketing Specialist provides a comprehensive range of marketing support and services for internal clients across the college including faculties, student recruitment, and corporate service areas. The scope of practice for the role is wide, and the work has direct and significant impact on the college’s brand and reputation.

 

The Marketing Specialist operates within set campaign marketing budgets, plans and projects to align with objectives, and works with vendors to maximize the use of available campaign budgets. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing relationships with internal clients, providing communication, oversight and collaboration in executing marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with the college’s branding, marketing, student recruitment and retention, and business goals, objectives and priorities, and visual identity guidelines.

 

The role is primarily responsible for projects related to brand awareness and positioning, student recruitment, student retention, and other college services including the Office of the Registrar and Advancement. The Marketing Specialist participates in cross-functional, cross-college project teams to support these strategies, and has the primary responsibility for the execution of strategic marketing plans and ensuring the tactical plans achieve the campaign goals and objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Relationship Management (30%)

  • Act as a marketing contact for internal clients throughout the college.

  • Develop and maintains strong working relationships and collaborates with key internal customers and stakeholders in the faculties, Student Recruitment, Advancement, Strategic Integration & Stakeholder Relations, and other business areas to identify and assess marketing needs and opportunities, and provide consulting, recommendations, and results.

  • Identify client needs and objectives, and develops effective marketing plans and strategies to achieve them. 

Marketing Activities (60%) 

  • Manage and execute marketing plans for divisional and institutional marketing campaigns, advertising (print, online, out-of-home, radio, displays, etc.), promotions and sponsorships to achieve college objectives and reach defined target audiences, as well as associated budgets required.

  • Contribute and provide leadership to the development of marketing plans aligned with other related college and divisional plans.

  • Build creative briefs and plans for each marketing project, which include budget guidelines, timelines, approval processes, production, and post-implementation evaluation, and manage the successful execution of these projects.

  • Monitor, report on, and recommend actions on campaign performance results to plan.

  • Oversee activities involved in viewbook, promotional, advertising, collateral, and marketing and recruitment publications production for the college.

  • Work with external agencies and vendors to develop plans, receive estimates, quotes, and book marketing and promotional activities such as advertising space, collateral, printing, distribution, etc. related to the execution of campaigns and initiatives, as required.

  • Write, edit, and oversee production and placement of advertising, advertorials, collateral, promotional items, and advertorials in various digital and print media.

  • Work with Brand and Creative Services in the design and execution required to fulfill marketing campaigns, advertising and promotion strategies as appropriate for internal and external audiences across print, out-of-home, online, electronic, and other mediums, including but not limited to collateral, brochures, publications, signs, programs, booklets, webpages, emails, advertisements, radio spots, etc.

  • Assist with college recruitment and student events such as career fairs, Open House, conferences, training sessions, and convocation, etc. as required.

Communication and Consultation (10%)

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient workflow, improve communication and enhance working relationships.
  • Participate in communications and market planning in support of the college business plan goals.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with Team Lead, department, and division to discuss, prioritize, and review work, set performance plans, and review performance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A university degree or college diploma related to marketing, communications, or related business field. Related experience with training and professional development may be considered for equivalency.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in developing and executing effective marketing plans in a large, multifaceted organization. Experience in an educational institution is an asset.
  • A solid knowledge of, and experience with, developing multi-channel marketing strategies including print, online (search, social, display, email), out-of-home, radio, events, and sponsorships applicable to the audience, goals, and objectives of the strategy.

  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong working knowledge of design theory, and the production process to ensure high-quality execution of marketing activities. Graphic design/creative development experience using the Adobe Suite is an asset.

  • Proven experience using project management and change management practices to manage the implementation of marketing plans.

  • Understanding and ability to use effective evaluation methods to assess success of marketing efforts and improve future marketing endeavours.

  • Ability to communicate in a constructive and productive manner, expressing complex ideas succinctly, and suitable for varied target audiences including senior-level clients.

  • Team player with a strong client-centred service approach – must demonstrate a transparent and collaborative approach to working with clients and team members.

  • Must be able to take initiative and have strong follow-up and follow through skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.

This unique Human Resources (HR) Consultant position is a dual function role of a HR business partner which is a single point of HR support for internal clients and a HR Analyst role. The successful candidate will drive change and growth with managers and employees using sound HR best practice collaborative support and enabling guidance. Using best practice knowledge, experience and client focused skills this position will guide recruitment, performance management, employee relations, classification, organizational design and position management.  The HR Analyst function will construct metrics and analytics that along with managing varied projects will enable the college to drive decision making and enhance effective HR processes and procedures. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partnering with clients by collaborating with them to improve organizational design and effectiveness.
  • Providing sound advice and support on all human resource related issues including, but not limited to; interpreting HR Policy and Collective Agreements, promoting positive employee relations, recruitment of all levels, job evaluations/classifications, conflict management and general workforce management.
  • Actively participating in HR process improvement initiatives.
  • Conducting research, analyze data and prepare reports with well thought out recommendations.
  • Remaining current with human resource strategies and best practices.
  • Developing and providing qualitative and quantitative analysis on workforce metrics such as time to hire, cost to hire, turnover, total headcount, claims, STD, LTD and days lost from reports generated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in a related field (Business, Human Resource Management) and associated training in the HR field (recruitment, compensation, classification, employee and labour relations)
  • CPHR designation is considered a strong asset.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a human resources generalist with specific experience in functions of HR Analyst or Business Analyst roles with HRIS experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge with the use of HRIS systems including PeopleSoft and Halogen.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
