PURCHASER
INTEGRATED PLANNING & FINANCIAL SERVICES
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement and Contract Management, the Purchaser provides advice and leadership to internal clients on the procurement of goods and services in compliance with College policies/procedures and any external legislative requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research purchasing options, provide analysis and make recommendations regarding College wide purchasing practices including recommendations to internal clients regarding purchasing options.
- Creates purchase orders using the PeopleSoft Purchasing Module.
- Assist in the development and training of all staff who are required to use the PeopleSoft Requisition, and Expense Module.
- Communicate complete and accurate order details to publishers/suppliers and follow up to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ongoing communication with internal clients, and suppliers to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of required supplies.
- Provides assistance in the preparation of Request for Quotes (RFQ’s) and review process.
- Vendor Management
- Project work and implementation with operating system upgrades.
- Record and provide disposals and acquisitions year end working papers to support the College’s financial statements.
- Collects count data from multiple building locations, providing data for further analysis, providing count results for the current fiscal year.
- Maintains the Physical Inventory records in Asset Management including building, location, and custodian information of assets.
- Assist Financial Services with year-end audit by providing working documents to support the College Financial statements.
- Coordinates and participates with team for annual inventory counts.
- Reconcile submitted paper visa claims with electronic information downloaded from the online "Wallet"
- Confirm that all documentation required is provided as per College policies and procedures and, following up on all discrepancies.
- Provide training to Visa card users on the technical, procedural requirements and inherent responsibilities associated with the possession of a Visa card.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in business with a specialization in procurement preferred. Equivalencies may be considered.
- Working towards Supply Chain Management Professional designation (SCMP)
- 1 to 3 years of direct related experience in procurement and asset management
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Full working knowledge of the procurement to payment process, including receiving and assets management.
- Experience and familiarity with IT technology or Health related equipment an asset.
- Must have strong multi-tasking skills and self-motivation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office required, including a strong understanding of Excel
- Experience with PeopleSoft an asset
- Purchasing experience a strong asset

Reporting to the Team Lead, Client Services, the Regional Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing front-line services and support to all applicants, prospective and current students based on knowledge of all programs, courses, policies and procedures on a casual, as needed basis. The position will also provide administrative and reception support to the campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reception and Customer Service
- Perform general reception duties; answer general questions and inquiries from all visitors, prospective and current students to ensure they are directed to the appropriate service or program.
- Provide institutional contact information to students requiring disability supports and/or funding for disability supports.
- Offer information to applicants on community supports (i.e. shelters, alternate means of financial assistance, etc.) that will assist them in their efforts to be “ready, willing and able” to attend classes.
- Assist students in accessing video-conferencing equipment and other technology as required.
Program Support
- Liaise with institutional staff regarding applications and registration processing, provides assistance with enrolment management and liaise with program areas to ensure smooth delivery of all new and on-going programming on site.
- Organize appointments for Navigator or program coordinators as required. Orients instructors with building and office equipment.
Administration
- Appropriately manage and maintain confidential documents, correspondence and student information.
- PeopleSoft Student data entry.
- Accepts payments for application fees, tuition, books, and other student related activities.
- Ensures timely distribution of applicant admission information to the Office of the Registrar Admissions Unit for review and assessment.
- Schedule exam and assessment writing dates and times; invigilate or proctor exams.
- Maintain petty cash fund, if applicable.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail/courier.
- Assist with planning and hosting celebrations.
- Assigns classroom use by programs and external clients, arranges access to the facility outside of regular hours, if required.
- Obtain information for invoicing purposes and/or collects payment for room rentals if applicable.
- Textbook management and processing, if applicable.
- Ensure onsite marketing materials remain current.
- Troubleshooting facilities issues, submit requests to Facilities.
Other Duties
- Each regional campus may have administrative duties that are specific to that campus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post –secondary business/office administration certificate or diploma preferred and 1 year related customer service experience, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to contribute to a positive team culture, working collaboratively with others and paying attention to how the team supports its members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach EFL to adult learners in China with anticipated dates of August 20 to November 25 (dates may change)
- Provide language instruction with a curriculum based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks, lecture hours will be on Saturday and Sunday
- Develop a curriculum using the identified Global Learning Outcomes of the course
- Teach listening and speaking skills to EFL learners using a variety of methods including demonstrations, presentations, discussions, brainstorming sessions, lectures, seminars, case studies, field trips, independent or group projects
- Design/develop appropriate classroom activities/resources using authentic materials, resources, and technology
- Conduct initial and ongoing needs assessments; provide one-on-one feedback, host office hours and adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of students
- Assess students on an on-going basis
- Maintain attendance records, student progress and other documentation as required
- The instructor will act as a liaison between NorQuest College and the partner organization and work to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions including but not limited to facilitating communication and developing new opportunities for collaboration and joint projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- TESL qualifications, a university degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in language teaching; master’s degree preferred

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (FULL-TIME TERM POSITION ENDING JUNE 30, 2019)
CONTINUING EDUCATION AND CORPORATE TRAINING
Do you enjoy direct sales? Are you skilled at developing strong customer relationships, identifying and pursuing new market development opportunities, and negotiating with service providers? If so this position may be the one for you! Reporting to the Principal, Centre for Intercultural Education, the Business Development Officer is responsible for helping NorQuest College increase its revenue from and impact on individual learners and organizations throughout Edmonton and the surrounding region. The Business Development Officer will focus on establishing and cultivating relationships with public and private organizations to provide training based on the Centre for Intercultural Education’s inventory of courses and programs. A significant amount of time will be spent creating new business through face to face meetings with potential customers and expanding training with existing customers. The incumbent will be an important member of the Business Development team, and expected to contribute to team success.
The position of Business Development Officer requires excellence in relationship management, and demonstrable acumen in budgeting, proposal writing, and contract management. These skills must be utilized on a consistent basis in order to enhance, create and grow education opportunities that provide value to the College’s customers, students, stakeholders, and the community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Business Development
- Prospecting, identifying and engaging employers across various sectors to create opportunities to sell and deliver training and other services.
- Plan, create, and submit proposals in response to RFPs or direct asks that meet the training needs of an organization.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
Client Retention
- Present new products and services to grow training and development activity with existing customers
- Work with technical and other internal staff and colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Arrange and participate in stewardship activity with clients and associations to which our clients belong.
- Provide input into customized training for clients
Planning
- Use knowledge of NorQuest’s market and competitors, identify and develop NorQuest’s unique selling proposition and differentiators

Management and Research
- Record progress on training initiatives through strong attention to detail. · Track and record activity with accounts

QUALIFICATIONS:

SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY EDUCATION CONSULTANT
PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT DIPLOMA PROGRAM
FACULTY OF HEALTH AND COMMUNITY STUDIES
Background:
The Allied Health Department is proposing a new interdisciplinary therapy assistant (ITA) diploma program which would meet the need for therapy assistants who are able to work across all major allied health rehabilitation disciplines (i.e. occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy, and recreation therapy). The ITA program would provide students with a strong occupational therapy assistant and physical therapy assistant background, and incorporate essential assistant level skills in speech language therapy and therapeutic recreation.
Position description:
The SLP consultant would support the development of the new ITA program by developing learning outcomes and content overview for two speech language pathology assistant courses. They would also provide input regarding the overall program vision and architecture, and practicum structure. This initial contract would require 6-8 hours of work to be completed prior to May 2, 2018. Hours are flexible.
Future opportunities:
Once the program is approved (September 2018) the contract could be extended. The consultant would then provide subject matter expertise and develop curriculum (course content, learning activities, and assessments). They would provide online and face-to-face instruction, deliver hands-on lab workshops, and support clinical placement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Speech Language Pathologist, registered with ACSLPA
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience
- Teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development experience
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently, and collaboratively on a team
- Computer skills and online teaching experience preferred

ASSOCIATE CHAIR, LINC
LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS FOR NEWCOMERS TO CANADA (LINC)
FACULTY OF CAREERS AND INTERCULTURAL STUDIES
At NorQuest College, the LINC program fulfills the “We’ll meet you where you’re at” commitment to students by offering a wide variety of programming options, scheduling options, and delivery modes that meet the varied needs of our diverse student population.
Our LINC classes range from basic literacy to CLB 8 and include specialized courses such as Prep for Online Learning, LINC American Sign Language (ASL), Youth LINC, LINC Volunteer, LINC Hybrid, LINC Online, LINC Rural Delivery, and prep for employment courses with employment certificates (e.g. WHIMIS, First Aid, and many others) in addition to more traditional face-to face courses.
Our scheduling options include full time and part time classes during the day, in the evening, and on the weekends. Our delivery modes include face to face, online, and hybrid programming that reaches students from across Edmonton, Alberta (LINC Rural Delivery), and Canada (LINC Online). Our educational streams of literacy, building academic skills and regular for students with 0 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 plus years of education respectively allow students of the same educational background to learn together.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Associate Chairs in NorQuest College’s LINC work to support all of the existing options as well as help innovate and further grow the program. SOCIAL WORKER (ADVISOR III)

STUDENT SERVICES
Reporting to the Manager of Wellness and Accessibility, the Social Worker’s primary function is to perform needs assessments to identify appropriate psychosocial interventions, identify and respond to mental health emergencies and support basic living needs, information, support, and community referrals for students. This position will coordinate with other areas in the College in order to foster communication and encourage collaboration for effective service delivery. This position will deliver and organize culturally sensitive presentations and fairs that provide meaningful information to students, provide counselling support and crisis counselling, and cultivate best practices, new Social Work research, and maintain ethical Social Work standards. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform needs assessments to identify major barriers to student success including but not limited to mental health, housing, financial, cultural, and family issues.
• Provide psychosocial interventions and crisis counselling to at-risk students and students with mental health barriers.
• Establish relationships with other NorQuest College staff and faculty to ensure Social Work is meeting their needs.
• Establish and maintain a network of contacts in the community to assist with appropriate community referrals.
• Collaborate with other professionals including psychologists and nurses.
