MANAGER, INDIGENOUS RELATIONS and SUPPORTS STRATEGIC INTEGRATION and EXTERNAL RELATIONS   Reporting to the Director, Strategic Integration & Stakeholder Relations, the Manager, Indigenous Relations and Supports is responsible for providing leadership in all Indigenous education, recruitment, supports and partnership opportunities at NorQuest College, including the provision of strategic advice to the Director and direction to the Indigenization Strategy Working Group, which they will co-chair. The position is instrumental in implementing and supporting NorQuest's indigenization efforts. Aligned with NorQuest’s Comprehensive Institutional Plan, the current Indigenization Strategy, and the Strategic Enrolment Management framework, this position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, and industry/business to ensure that open and respectful relationships exist so that Indigenous learners’ needs are best served. In addition, the position will be instrumental in driving brand awareness, business development, and Indigenous student recruitment, support, and retention strategies. Implementation of the Indigenization Strategy to serve all prospective and current Indigenous peoples at the College is one of the initial key tasks of the position as well as the provision of oversight and/or direction of current programs and supports that serve our Indigenous learners including the new Indigenous Student Centre, Elder supports, the RBC Indigenous Mentorship program, and learner supports. The development of regional relationships and providing leadership on Indigenous community relations and partnerships are important aspects of this portfolio, raising the profile of the College in serving of Indigenous learners in a respectful and collaborative manner. This position will contribute to the development of internal policies and processes to support indigenization efforts at NorQuest. The Manager will lead and manage learner support positions that serve Indigenous learners, provide leadership and strategic advice on recruitment and retention efforts, internal processes and improvements, and provide exceptional customer service to Indigenous students and stakeholders, Director of Strategic Integration & Stakeholder Relations (SISR) and the Department. SISR currently has responsibility for the Indigenization strategy of the College, the international strategy of the College, regional stewardship, and broader stakeholder relations.     RESPONSIBILITIES:    - Manages the design, implementation, and delivery of various indigenization initiatives and activities. - Establish and monitor organizational performance of the implementation of the College’s Indigenization Strategy including but not limited to effective community engagement, establishing visible Indigenous presence within the College, indigenizing curriculum, influencing processes at the College that serve Indigenous learners, and establishing appropriate support and retention systems. - Work closely with the academic faculties, Student Life & Office of the Registrar, Research, Brand & Market Development, and other areas of the College in the reporting on internal and external factors affecting Indigenous student enrolment, retention, and success outcomes. - In cooperation with internal stakeholders develop internal policies and processes to facilitate the recruitment, admissions and retention of prospective and current Indigenous students. - Ensure that general recruitment materials and the website information are kept up to date related to serving prospective and current Indigenous learners. - Work with communities, local partners, school boards and other stakeholders to benefit prospective and current Indigenous learners of the College. - Lead the Indigenization Strategy Working Group and establish and lead other supporting bodies required as determined. - Ensure that all student issues are dealt with in a timely manner and are provided with high quality, respectful customer service. - Identify training and support needs, write proposals and reports as required, including funding proposals for external resources. - Build a culture characterized by communication, trust, respect, acknowledgement, and recognition. - Develops and implements plans to increase enrollments and contracts in collaboration with program areas and aligned with Strategic Enrolment Management plan. - Undertakes external relations activities, as required and in support of other program areas. - Develops other revenue streams as appropriate in consultation/collaboration with program areas. - Secures agreements for the delivery of educational offerings as required or in partnership with program areas. - Develops draft budgets, monitors revenues and expenses and undertakes reporting as required - Deploys resources to ensure financial objectives for activities are met.   QUALIFICATIONS:   - A completed post-secondary degree is required in a related field. - A graduate degree would be considered a valuable asset. - A minimum of five years of related experience within post-secondary or another related industry is required. - Strong understanding and knowledge of Canadian Indigenous history and culture is a requirement. - Thorough knowledge of Indigenous communities and the components of Indigenous learner success in a post-secondary environment. - Proven leadership skills; demonstrated experience working with different levels of leadership to engage and influence positive outcomes. - Strong analytic, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with experince with strategic planning and development. - Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; demonstrated public speaking skills. - Experience working in a post-secondary environment, including experience with Indigenous learners and a strong understanding of the barriers and challenges faced. - Experience supervising staff. - Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy skills. - Experience preparing and monitoring budgets. - Experience working with PeopleSoft would be an asset.   SALARY: $84,748- $105,965 per annum; commensurate with education and experience. SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT ACADEMIC RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT   Reporting to the Dean of Academic Research and Development, the Senior Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Dean and ARD Division. Duties include supporting and assisting the Dean, supporting the Research Department leadership, maintaining AR&D office administration, managing and supervising the casual staff and activities of the AR&D department, and maintaining ARD Financial activities. This position is a key member of the ARD Leadership team and will participate in strategic planning for the Division.   The Senior Administrative Assistant requires excellent organizational skills, decision making capabilities, and relationship building skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to staff, faculty, students, government, and community members. The incumbent will need to learn quickly and manage their task list effectively. Because the ARD Division is keenly focused on results, the Senior Administrative Assistant’s success will depend on and be measured by their ability to deliver on agreed upon, measurable outcomes. RESEARCH CLERKS (OPEN TO NORQUEST STUDENTS ONLY) ACADEMIC RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT   Reporting to a Research Analyst, the Research Clerk provides basic support to one or more institutional research project(s). Under the guidance and observation of the Analyst, the Research Clerk will engage in basic data collection activities (e.g., telephone surveys), data entry, data verification (e.g., checking spelling of names), and basic data sorting. Though having little independent initiative to act, the Research Clerk is integral to the success of projects as the activities s/he conducts are often labour intensive. Through his/her involvement in a project, the Research Clerk will learn if s/he is interested in pursuing further educational and work experience in the field of research. WELLNESS COACH (ADMINISTRATOR I) WELLNESS AND ACCESSIBILITY STUDENT SERVICES   Reporting to the Manager of Wellness, the Wellness Coach provides practicum support to students with disabilities, as well as group social skills training relevant to the classroom, practicum and workplace. If so this position may be the one for you!   The Program Officer, Centre for Intercultural Education (CIE) will provide content expertise for programs, events and industry training. You will actively build client relationships that help NorQuest achieve its revenue, impact and reputational goals. You will play an integral role in developing products and services related to the field of diversity and inclusion. In this role you will work with prospective clients and funders to expand NorQuest’s products, services, and reputation in the subjects of intercultural communication, English in the workplace and diversity and inclusion. Administrative functions associated with this role are related to program delivery and the day-to-day functions of client management, project management, and general oversight of operations. You will work with both college faculty and contracted providers to identify costs, and negotiate fees to create or customize products that fulfill organizational training needs. The candidate must be willing to travel to meet clients and be able to work evenings and weekends when necessary.     RESPONSIBILITIES:   Program and project management - Identify, develop projects and programs in collaboration with the Principal, and Business Development Officers - Analyses (quantitative and qualitative) to assess, monitor and evaluate performance of services and/or programs - Work with the BD management team to improve business conditions and ensure profitable performance of CIE operations - Assist in the development, execution and completion of applied research projects - Develop diversity and inclusion products and courses that can be delivered on a face to face and/or online platform - Exhibit proficient business acumen in business planning and administration, budgeting, and performance oversight - Work with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and collateral to promote CIE’s offerings   Client and stakeholder engagement   - Establish and build positive relationships with external clients interested in intercultural education programming - Build positive relationships with internal staff at NorQuest - Conduct client follow-up with prospective individuals in conjunction and collaboration with business development officers - Develop customizable courses and programming that fits the needs of clients within the capital region and beyond - Manage relationships with prospective CIE funders and sponsors - Liaise with the CIE Program Advisory Council to develop programming and courses that meet the needs of regional, national and international opportunities for growth.   Program Coordination and Administration - Support the administration of programs, event planning, and research project dissemination - Help with oversight of the program administrators in support of CIE   REQUIREMENTS:   - A Bachelor’s Degree in a field of study related to intercultural studies, diversity or inclusion is the minimal educational requirement. - A Master’s Degree in a field related to the aforementioned areas of study is an asset. - Minimum of 3 years of direct experience inclusive of: intercultural education, business development and client engagement - Work experience related to intercultural competencies and business development will also be considered in conjunction with related educational credentials. - Experience in developing intercultural, diversity and inclusion based projects - Experience in developing customizable courses and programming that fits the learning needs of clients   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   - Must be client-centric, focused on customer satisfaction and service - Must have a strong aptitude in network building and relationship building with external clients to promote business growth - Must have strong communication skills; both written and verbal - Must be proficient in conducting applied research projects, using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies     SALARY: $84,749 - $105,965 commensurate with education and experience.
