ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INNOVATION   NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to making a difference to join our Program Development team as an Academic Development Specialist.The Program Development department leads the development of new programs and maintains quality assurance of our current programs in collaboration with faculty and staff across the college to support NorQuest 2030, We Are Who We Include. This role is responsible for assisting the program review process, data and research projects, as well as supporting the Quality Assurance Framework project. This position will require excellent organizational and analytical skills, decision-making capabilities, ability to perform under pressure, strong writing and facilitation skills, and relationship building capabilities with a range of internal and external stakeholders. If you have a strong passion for program evaluation or data collection and research, then this may be the job for you!     HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE - Support the development of program quality assurance framework and process. - Coordinate program review process. - Conduct research related to program changes and program reviews. - Coordinate major program change processes and approvals. - Administer NorQuest’s program records on the Government of Alberta’s PAPRS, including program changes, suspension and termination of program records. - Plan and facilitate meetings, workshops, and events with internal and external stakeholders related to program review, quality assurance framework, and program changes. - Work with stakeholders to create evaluation and program review plans. - Recruit and maintain student panel activities. - Facilitate surveys and focus groups. - Write reports and proposals. - Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU BRING - An undergraduate degree in a related field. - 3+ years’ experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment. - Proven experience and success managing multi-disciplinary initiatives, preferably in an academic setting. - Data collection and research experience and/or training would be preferred. - Program evaluation experience and/or training would be an asset. - Experience and training in project management.   WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER? INSTRUCTOR, NEWCOMER INTEGRATED TRAINING PROGRAM FACULTY OF SKILLS AND FOUNDATIONAL LEARNING   NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for people dedicated to making a difference to join our Faculty of Skills and Foundational Learning as an Instructor(s) in an exciting new newcomer integrated training program. Our Integrated Training Program team prepares students for the workplace through the successful completion of a combination of classroom and workplace training.   As an instructor in this new pilot initiative, you will have the opportunity to design and deliver 3 intakes of a 16-week program supporting labour market attachment for newcomers at CLB 3+4, experiencing learning and mental health barriers. This pilot initiative is a response to identified gaps in opportunities for identified clients - as such, it requires a strong aptitude towards innovative and creative curriculum design and delivery, and a willingness to try new ideas to increase learner success.  This exciting initiative will impact future programming at NorQuest as we continually seek to increase access and inclusion in education.   HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE   - Apply principles of Universal Design to create and deliver high-quality, innovative curriculum and instruction to adult newcomers. - Revise and conduct learner intake evaluations, to assess learner readiness and suitability. - Support newcomer learners from a variety of backgrounds and diverse populations through the program. - Integrate best practices in inclusive and trauma-informed education, to support learners with diagnosed and undiagnosed learning and mental health barriers to education, life, and employment. - Prepare learning materials and plans according to college and program guidelines suitable for adult students at identified CLB levels. - Prepare supplemental materials as needed. - Work with students to improve learning strategies and practical skills. - Work with support staff, including educational assistants and career coaches, to increase learner employment success. - Support monitoring and evaluation activities as per grant requirements. - Maintain student records. - After delivery, edit and finalize teaching materials for ease of use.   WHAT YOU BRING    - Bachelors degree in Education or a Bachelor Degree in Special Education; Masters degree a strong asset. - If your education was received internationally we recommend you obtain an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations. - Experience designing and delivering lessons for newcomers aligned to the Canadian Language Benchmarks, especially at lower CLB levels. - Strong background in inclusive education theory and practice. - Education and/or experience designing curriculum for language learners. - Experience in workforce development, employment training for adults. - A willingness to test and try new ways of teaching and learning, to increase results for equity deserving community members.   WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER   As a difference maker, you bring:   - Experience working with learners at the CLB 3-4 level. - Expertise in strategies, accommodations, and interventions for those with learning differences. - Awareness of trauma informed approaches to working with newcomer students. - Previous instructional experience and course work in adult education, with evidence of student-centered teaching excellence is an asset. - Experience with learner management systems (i.e. Moodle, Adobe Connect, PeopleSoft student) and computer programs (i.e. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   LOCATION: This position is based full-time at NorQuest’s Edmonton campus.  Classes run in person, up to 5 days per week.     EMPLOYMENT TERM: Start date as soon as possible - 15 July 2025 This is an external grant-funded position. FAMILY CAREGIVER WELLNESS WORKSHOP FACILITATOR (ALBERTA RURAL AND INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES) FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES    The NorQuest College, Faculty of Health Studies’ Family Caregiver Wellness Initiative (FCWI) Project Team is recruiting for health care professionals to deliver workshops in a facilitator role to family caregivers in Alberta’s Rural & Indigenous communities. The FCWI supports family caregivers of loved ones living at home through providing education. FCWI was launched to provide: - Enhance family caregiver knowledge and confidence to respond to the needs of the persons safely and efficiently in their care. - To improve the quality of life for family caregivers and people who receive their care. - To provide supports for family caregiver to build their confidence and knowledge to provide care. Each family caregiver workshop is 2 hours in length and can be delivered in person or online depending on the current health orders. The successful candidate is expected to train caregivers during the workshops in their surrounding communities using NorQuest teaching material and simulation videos, which will already be provided to the facilitator. Facilitators will have the flexibility to train one caregiver at a time or for groups as large as 15. NorQuest College will assist facilitators in recruiting caregivers to participate in these workshops including facilities to run the workshop if required. In addition, the successful candidates will undergo mandatory training prior to taking on the facilitator role (approximately 2 hours online). Candidates who have successfully completed their training will receive a digital badge to demonstrate that they are qualified to provide family caregiver training for NorQuest College. They will also receive access to all NorQuest instructional materials that must be used in the workshops to ensure learning outcomes are met. The digital badge can also be added to professional portfolios but will expire after one year. TUTOR & ACADEMIC COACH, ENGLISH AND WRITING STUDENT SERVICES, COLLEGE LIFE   NorQuesters are difference makers, and we’re searching for someone who can apply learning theory, universal design principles, and foundational knowledge from the Alberta K-12 curriculum to support learner success. Working one-on-one with foundational and post-secondary learners, including those with experience of disability and those who have English as an additional language, Tutor-Coaches support the academic progress of learners by compassionately meeting them where they are at and collaborating with Instructional Faculty and the broader Student Services team to ensure wrap-around academic support.   The Tutor & Academic Coach (English and Writing) position provides in-person and online learning support to students in a variety of NorQuest courses and programs, inclusive of high school English, language learning programs (ESL and LINC), as well as post-secondary courses in the humanities and social sciences, such as Business Communications, and first-year university courses such as Technical Writing and Introduction to Composition. Tutor-Coaches work with students via multiple delivery channels, including drop-in tutoring and academic coaching, coaching appointments through a Habits for Success program, and coaching appointments for students referred by Accessibility (Disability) Services. You will have the opportunity to learn new curriculum, experiment with varied approaches to supporting learners, as well as the opportunity to innovate, as we transform our services to meet the college’s strategic goals and work towards our commitment to Indigenization, decolonization and becoming an anti-racist organization.     HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE   Provide tutoring and academic coaching support to students - Assess learning needs and provide content tutoring and academic skill development coaching to learners. - Co-create and individualize learning strategies using a strengths-based approach. - Provide a safe, inclusive, and holistic learning experience for all students.
